Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite Plans to Open Ascent Spa in the Summer of 2010
New spa will feature 12 treatment rooms, organic spa line and relaxing atmosphere
BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 14, 2009) – Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite National Park plans to open the 10,000-square-foot Ascent Spa at Tenaya Lodge in the Summer of 2010.
The new spa will increase the AAA four-diamond resort’s wellness offerings with new treatment rooms, dry saunas, steam rooms and health classes for guests to enjoy. The Ascent Spa at Tenaya Lodge will also draw upon the natural splendor that is Yosemite National Park to help guests relax and rejuvenate. It will also make Tenaya Lodge the closest luxury spa/resort to Yosemite.
“The Ascent Spa at Tenaya Lodge will add great value to Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite and I believe guests will truly enjoy everything it has to offer,” said Tom McCann, general manager. “It’s an important part of our overall expansion efforts at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite.”
The Ascent Spa at Tenaya Lodge will feature 12 treatment rooms for massages, facials and body treatments. It will also feature couples treatment rooms where partners can relax together. An additional yoga room will offer instructor-led classes. The entire spa will feature the award-winning and environmentally friendly Éminence Organic Spa products.
Guests will also be able to exercise in an enhanced fitness facility that includes free weights, Nautilus machines and cardio equipment. A wall of waterfalls will welcome guests to the Ascent Spa at Tenaya Lodge and help them relax the moment they enter.
Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite is also expanding its meeting and event space and plans to unveil the new 15,000-square-feet of function space around the same time as the Ascent Spa at Tenaya Lodge. The new meeting and event space will include a 10,000-square-foot grand ballroom, smaller meeting spaces and an outdoor pavilion designed for special events, group dining and team-building events. Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite’s award-winning culinary team will continue to cater all events held at the resort.
These expansion efforts come on the heels of Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite’s acquisition of the Apple Tree Inn earlier this year. That acquisition bolstered the resort’s accommodations. On the culinary side, Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite has opened two new restaurants in 2009: the upscale Embers Restaurant and casual-dining Timberloft Pizzeria.
“These expansion projects – the Ascent Spa at Tenaya Lodge, our new meeting and event space and the acquisition of Apple Tree Inn -- make Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite one of California’s premier resorts,” said McCann.
